Johannes Fraga is a Cuban flutist who has an dynamic career as a performer and flute teacher. He is graduated in music elementary level at Guillermo Tomas Conservatory (Havana, Cuba), and graduated in higher studies in music at the Provincial Music Conservatory Amadeo Roldan (La Habana, Cuba).
He has appeared as a soloist with the Opera Orchestra of the Gran Teatro de la Habana, Popular Music Ensemble Modern School of Music in Cuba, Symphony Orchestra of Cultural Providence Institute in Chile, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, and interpreting classics and latin music in major Latin American theaters, embassies and festivals such as: Teatro Amadeo Roldan Auditorium, Minor Basilica of Embassy of Spain, Musicalia Festival of Chamber Music, among others.
He has won several awards, such as First Prize at the Provincial and National Flute Competition in Amadeo Roldán - Diploma of Honor, Third Prize and Best Performance in Latin American music in Piano Contest Amadeo Roldán, Second Prize in a contest of music theory and music appreciation, First Prize in the contest Flute Amadeo Roldán, Third Prize in the event The flute in Cuba, Diploma of Honor and Best Graduate Middle Level Senior Provincial Music Conservatory Amadeo Roldan, La Habana, Cuba.
Johannes Fraga has had the opportunity to participate in numerous festivals. Recently, he has performed at Symphony Orchestra of Cultural Providence Institute in Chile accompanying international artists such as: Andrea Griminielli (Italian flautist) the great soprano Cristina Gallardo Domas, Gonzalo Tomckowiack (opera singer), Enrique Tellería (Uruguayan Bandoneonist), Armands Abols (Latvian pianist), Katharina Paslawski (Polak Vioncellista). Also, he has had master classes with internationally recognized teachers such as: Claudio Abaddo (conductor) and Alicia Suescum (flutist).
He is enthusiastic about teaching and promoting new musicians, he has worked as flute professor at Conservatory of Music Guillermo Tomas (Cuba), Provincial Music Conservatory Amadeo Roldán (Cuba), Academia Oriente (Chile) and Academia Entre Cuerdas y Pinceles (Chile). As a member and conductor of the Quarteto Ensemble Harmony (flute, violin, viola, bass) he had a experience in conducting music.
Currently, Johannes Fraga is teaching private lessons in music and flute, and performs in various chamber music ensembles in the city of Miami. |
